Center LINAC Addition

A key component of the Conord Health Center was the 1,833 sq. ft. addition of a Linear Accelerator (LINAC) to treat cancer patients. This area and the equipment it houses had extensive specialized requirements.

The base/foundation consisted of 220 cubic yards of concrete that was placed in a single operation. The
concrete walls and roof are 5’ thick around the perimeter increasing to 7’ thick at the location of the LINAC machine. The walls are made up of 390 cubic yards of concrete and 17 tons of rebar. A suspended slab form system was utilized to support the eight tons of rebar and 430 cubic yards of concrete that make up the roof assembly.
